What are your thoughts on the provision of a Chromebook for every pupil in East Lothian secondary schools?
East Lothian Council has launched the "Learning, Connected" initiative, providing a personal Google Chromebook to every secondary school pupil (S1-S6) for use both in school and at home. This project aims to enhance digital skills, personalise learning, and boost technology access, and is funded through the Council's existing education IT budgets rather than external funding. The initiative also plans to increase the number of devices in primary schools.
Having been involved in a focus group discussion with some East Linton Primary School pupils, it seems there is much to consider!...
Fixing for a Future is supporting a team of P6 pupils to conduct some research to find out what people in East Lothian think about each secondary school pupil being provided with a Chromebook. We want to gather your views to better understand the various perspectives, and will share the findings with East Lothian Council.
We would love to hear from you, whether you're a pupil attending primary or secondary school, a parent, grandparent, or someone living in East Lothian who cares about this topic.
