Fixing for a Future started working with East Lothian Libraries a year ago, in January 2025. Since then, we've set up 4 volunteer-led, free, weekly sewing skills workshops at 4 East Lothian libraries - Haddington, Tranent, North Berwick and, most recently, Dunbar. The focus of the workshops is on repair. We'll be teaching sewing machine skills, with pupils learning to make zipped purses, tote bags and aprons, then we'll be focusing on up-cycling denim, making skirts, waistcoats and hats from old jeans! It’s been another busy year for Fixing for a Future! We’ve delivered 6 Repair Cafes at East Linton Community Hall, with the popularity of this event growing each time. It was our first and it definitely won't be our last! What a wonderful day!
