Thanks to all who attended our Tool Sharpening Workshop this morning and to Chris Chapman, East Linton Tool Library volunteer, for sharing his expertise.
The morning started with a bit of theory - how to get your angles right and the various dos and don'ts of remedying blunt edges safely - then everyone set to work sharpening a selection of kitchen and gardening tools brought from home, using sandpaper and blocks, a whetstone, sharpening steel, diamond sharpeners and a saw sharpening kit.
We hope you all had fun and learned some valuable skills and tips to keep your tools sharp!
All the equipment used in our workshop is available to borrow from East Linton Tool Library.
Look out for more workshops coming soon, including Sashiko mending, bike repair and maintenance, darning and furniture repair.
