Volunteers Wanted! Repair Café East Linton

An exciting opportunity to be involved in Repair Café East Linton, the first of its kind in East Lothian. Following the successful model already established across the UK and beyond (www.repaircafe.org) we aim to encourage people to reduce consumption by reusing the things we already own and repairing the stuff that breaks.

Coming to East Linton Community Hall in Spring 2022...!

‘Fixing for a Future’ will be holding a regular Repair Café at The Community Hall, East Linton. Anyone can bring their broken items and have them fixed with the help of skilled volunteer repairers.

We are looking for the following volunteers:

Repairers - anyone skilled at fixing:

· Clothes

· Electrical items including household appliances, computers and phones

· Jewellery

· Furniture

· Bicycles

· Any other common household item

In addition, we are looking for Repair Café Assistants to:

· Help set up venue, i.e. tables, chairs, tea, coffee & cakes

· Welcome and register customers

· Weigh and record items to be repaired

· Conduct necessary PAT tests

· Support customers to complete evaluation forms/guest book

· Facilitate repair corner for children

Tea, coffee and cakes available throughout.
