IF YOU LIKE WHAT WE'RE DOING, PLEASE SAY IN THE COMMENTS BELOW - AND WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AT A LIBRARY NEAR YOU SOON! **
We started our Fixing for a Future @ East Lothian Libraries pilot project in January this year. Our aims were to provide free, weekly, volunteer-led workshops teaching skills in how to repair clothes and textiles in two communities for all ages and abilities.
Having recruited a wonderful team of highly skilled and enthusiastic volunteers wanting to share their knowledge, we embarked on delivering volunteer-led weekly sewing repair workshops at Tranent and Haddington Libraries.
Nearly 6 months and 186 sign ups later, we can officially say our pilot project has been a success! We can't thank our volunteer team enough for making this happen!
Thank you to Janet, Anne and Hazel, who have run the workshops at Tranent Library and to Jan, Wendy, Holly, Liz R and Liz M, who have run the workshops at Haddington Library!
And thank you to everyone who has come along to take part in our workshops so far!
We'll be developing Fixing for a Future @ East Lothian Libraries after the summer holidays, bringing free, weekly, volunteer-led sewing repair workshops to more libraries across the county so watch this space!
