Whoop whoop! That's the first of our "Against Fast Fashion!" sewing workshops at Dunbar Grammar School underway! We'll be teaching sewing machine skills, with pupils learning to make zipped purses, tote bags and aprons, then we'll be focusing on up-cycling denim, making skirts, waistcoats and hats from old jeans!
The aim of our 'Against Fast Fashion!' work is to encourage the learning and sharing of sewing skills among young people in East Lothian; to show all the benefits of making and fixing your own clothes. It enables creativity of expression, it's good for the planet - reducing CO2 emissions and waste to landfill, it saves money, it's social and it's fun!
